NYC Day 5

On friday, our last day in New York, we started off by going to the convention in the morning.

At 1 p.m. we all had the option to go off on our own anywhere between the hotel and Times Square or we could have gone to Chinatown with Amy.

“There were a lot of people and places to go and I had fun shopping, hanging out with friends, and seeing new things,” senior Layton Kenworthy said.

We made our way back to the hotel to watch the end of the Wichita State game and then had to meet up in the lobby at 5:30 p.m. for the Harbor Lights Cruise. There was limited visibility because of the snow but we still saw the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and downtown and midtown Manhattan.

Mason“It was kind of hard to see but it was still fun to learn about New York and see the Statue of Liberty,” sophomore Mason Brack said.

We got on the Subway for the last time and got back to the hotel around 10 p.m. While some kids slept for a little while, others just stayed awake all night for our early morning of waking up a little after 3 a.m. to head to the airport.

Here are a few photo and video slideshows of earlier in the week from Avery, Rion and Daniel.
